Efficient portal frames with relatively low roof loads are slender structures and in some cases, the slenderness is such that second-order effects need to be considered, when analysing the structure. Generally, second-order effects must be considered for the Ultimate Limit State(ULS), but will have negligible effects at the Servicerbility Limit State(SLS).
Portal frames provide sufficient in-plane stability, and thus only require bracing for out-of-plane stability. However, their structural efficiency depends on the method of nalysis, and the assumptions that are made regarding the restraint provided to the structural members.
With rapid development of science and technology in aeronautics, the design of aircraft has continuously improved. This has led to the emergence of larger aircraft, inevitably leading to emergence large span hangars. As for the transportation and erection of steel components of this hangar structure, all the steel components have been designed within transportable lengths which also makes it easy to erect this type structure on site. This structure has been done in Tekla Structures application, you can open this file in Tekla Structures 2017 or newer version, to use it in your project.
